  • Moorpark vs. La Mirada, Girls Soccer

Moorpark and La Mirada played an 80-minute match, wasn’t enough. Two overtime periods, wasn’t enough. • St. John Bosco vs. Centennial (Corona), Football

Six fourth-quarter lead changes, 96 combined points, 30 NCAA Division I prospects, and 48 minutes of unbelievable football later, St. John Bosco won an absolute classic CIF Southern Section Division 1 semifinal against Corona Centennial, 49-47.St. Joh Bosco quarterback Re’Al Mitchell was sensational, going 17-for-22 for 287 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 122 yards and another score, including the go-ahead 63-yard touchdown with just over 5 minutes left.

  • La Serna vs. La Mirada, Football

In the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 quarterfinals, La Serna was leading 31-10 with three minutes left in the third quarter before La Mirada compiled a comeback for the ages. La Mirada scored the final 22 points in the game, including a game-winning drive that included two fourth down conversions to set up a game-winning 31-yard field goal to win 32-31 as time expired.

  • Eastvale Roosevelt vs. Centennial (Corona), Boys Basketball

The fifth meeting of the season between Big VIII League rivals Roosevelt and Centennial for the SoCal Regional DI boys basketball title came down to the final seconds for a state title berth. Roosevelt’s Matt Mitchell tallied 35 points, 11 rebounds and notched 17-of-18 free throws, including 15 points and going 10-for-10 from the line in the fourth quarter. The key play came in the final minute when Mitchell stole a pass and went in for a dunk that gave Roosevelt a four-point lead with 52 seconds remaining in an eventual 68-65 victory.
