Cassius Stanley leads Sierra Canyon boys basketball to victory in debut

CHATSWORTH — Junior guard Cassius Stanley had to sit and watch while the Sierra Canyon boys basketball team played its first 10 games of the season without him.

But on Wednesday, he finally was able to , and he helped the Trailblazers to an 87-81 victory over Cantwell Sacred-Heart of Mary.

Stanley finished with 19 points, including multiple electrifying dunks. Scotty Pippen Jr. and KJ Martin also had 19 points, Duane Washington Jr. scored 14 and Terren Frank added 12.

“It was fun tonight, but I was extremely tired,” Stanley said of his first game. “Couple times up and down and I was gassed, but it felt great to finally play in a game.”
