Corona del Mar too strong for Canyon, rolls on in volleyball playoffs

NEWPORT BEACH – The Corona del Mar boys volleyball team delivered a flurry of big blows early in their second-round match against Canyon in the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs on Thursday at Corona del Mar High.

And the Comanches were never able to recover.

The No. 3 seed Sea Kings needed less than an hour to sweep the Comanches 25-12, 25-16, 25-20 and advance to a quarterfinal match Saturday at Huntington Beach.
