Once again, a kudos to the ladies of the softball world.
The SCPL Softball Player for the Year fan vote accumulated over 15,000 votes, which smashed the total vote for the baseball fan vote–a fizzling 2,400 votes.
Among the top vote-getters were Oaks Christian’s Mo Sobel and South Hill’s Natalie Lugo.
Up until the final day of polling it was neck-and-neck, but Lugo’s fan base proved to be most honorable by tallying a poll-winning 7,798 votes, which crowns Lugo the 2016 SoCal Prep Legends Fan Vote Softball Player of the Year.

Lugo didn’t just lead South Hills to the Palomares League title, she did it with an astonishing statistic. In going a perfect 10-0 in league, Lugo didn’t allow an earned run. Lugo finished 18-6 with a whopping 0.62 ERA with 279 strikeouts in 159 innings. For the second consecutive year, Lugo, who verbally committed to the University of Florida when she was a freshman, has been selected the Tribune softball player of the year..CLICK HERE TO READ MORE.
