Call it Act Three in the resurrection of St. John Bosco athletics.
Several years ago, the Bellflower school felt it was time to make changes in its athletic program. Always competitive, the school was playing in the most difficult league in the CIF Southern Section, the Trinity. It had location problems, somewhat isolated in Bellflower, and that isolation caused a paucity of notice for the school.
Rather quickly, coaches were hired, revenue was raised, and St. John Bosco has become a dominant player in basketball and football, winning first-ever section and state titles in the last half-decade. Now it’s baseball’s turn in the lineup.
