CALABASAS — It was the ultimate rubber match Tuesday night.

The Sierra Canyon and Bishop Montgomery boys basketball team squared off for the third time this season, after splitting the first two meetings, including a double-overtime stunner at Cal Baptist University on Feb. 24 in the CIF Southern Section Open Division semifinal as the Trailblazers came out on top.

This time, a trip to the CIF State Southern California Regional Open Division final was on the line, and Sierra Canyon finally got the last word after a 72-70 victory in another overtime thriller at Calabasas High.

“That was one of the hardest games I’ve ever played in my life,” Sierra Canyon senior guard Duane Washington Jr. said.
