SoCal Prep Legends Shoutout: Luis Flores, Baldwin Park

SoCal Prep Legends Shoutout:
Luis Flores, Baldwin Park

There is so much talent in Southern California at the high school level, and every once and a blue moon great performances fall through the smallest cracks of covering these spectacular athletes.
For those rare times, we have the SCPL Shoutout, which highlights a player’s performance despite not being nominated for an SCPL weekly award.

This SCPL Shoutout goes out to a senior running back in Baldwin Park that had a Senior night her can remember for the rest of his life.

VIDEO: Highlights of Luis Flores

Luis Flores scored all of Baldwin Park’s  (5-4, 2-2) four touchdowns in a 28-23 win over San Dimas in Valle Vista league play Friday night. Flores rushed for 199 yards and had a circus-act catch for a fifth touchdown in the end zone, but the play was called back on a holding penalty.

Flores helped deliver an unlikely victory on his senior night, after projected San Dimas to beat the Braves 49-21.

On top of Flores’ on-field success, the talented running back will cap off his high school career tonight (Thursday) against Northview, but seems to have plenty of off-field success to lean on.

The senior captain maintains a 4.5 GPA, and founded a new Science & Math club at BPHS, taken numerous AP courses, chose to attend a 6-week Robotics Engineering STEM program at Carnegie Mellon (in Pennsylvania) this past summer, and will be applying to colleges to major in Engineering.
