Summit’s Jordon Wilson voted SoCal Prep Legends girls athlete of the week, (Nov. 13)

wilsonSummit High girls volleyball player Jordon Wilson was voted the SoCal Prep Legends girls athlete of the week with an impressive count of 4,955 votes. Playing against the only opponent in league that took a set off the SkyHawks, Wilson upped her game last week, piling up a whopping 37 kills as Summit defeated Fontana in five sets to clinch the outright Sunkist League title. Wilson, who averages 4.6 kills per set this season, hasn’t had less than 10 kills in any match this season.

Maranatha girls tennis player Hailey McNall finished second with 2,380 votes. McNall has won 40-plus consecutive matches, including a huge rally in the CIF Southern Section team playoffs last week. McNall (52-2) trailed the top Rancho Mirage player, who was undefeated for the season, 5-4. McNall prevailed, 7-5, and the top-seeded Minutemen scored a 14-4 victory in the second-round match. McNall went 6-0 in tournament play last week and has not lost since suffering one-set losses in Maranatha’s first two matches of the season.
