After a week of voting, Calabasas quarterback Tristan Gebbia was voted the SoCal Prep Legends FAN VOTE Football Player of the Year.

Gebbia is well deserving of the award after also being named the Los Angeles Daily News player of the year for 2016.

Gebbia’s support came from his future athletic family, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, which is where Gebbia is committed to play football next fall. The Cornhusker faithful made sure to see Gebbia win SCPL Athlete of the Week Oct. 7, 2016, as well as win two SCPL Play of the Week honors on Oct. 7 and Oct. 28 of 2016.

Gebbia’s 61 touchdown passes went to six different receivers as he was the only quarterback in California to throw for 5,000 yards this season. He finished with 5,338, which was also third-best in the nation.

His 13,109 career passing yards rank him second in the state behind Jake Browning, now at Washington, and he ranks fourth in state history with 141 career touchdowns.

The senior quarter back tallied 12,684 votes, which topped second-place finisher Tyler Nevens of Los Altos, who finished with 8,051 votes in the poll that totaled nearly 24,000.
