Monday night, Marvin Bagley III chose to play for Coach K at Duke, where he’ll wear the #35 jersey. The number was originally retired, but former Duke player Danny Ferry allowed for his number to be taken out of retirement so Bagley III can where it this season.
Yes, this season. Although Bagley III was originally a 2018 graduate, he also announced that he will reclassify to 2017, putting him onto Duke’s campus this fall.
The Sierra Canyon standout had two other choices, both Los Angeles PAC-12 schools, USC and UCLA. Which created quite the response, both good and bad. Here are some of the best reactions from Bagley’s decision via Twitter:
