CLOVIS >> With a heavy heart, Upland senior Joseph Anderson turned in the greatest hurdles double in CIF State Track and Field Championships history on Saturday night at Buchanan High.

Anderson defended his title in the 110-meter hurdles with a record-shattering wind-legal time of 13.33 seconds and came back a little later on the warm and breezy evening to rally to win the 300 hurdles in 36.02, breaking his San Bernardino County records in both.

His 13.33 broke the meet record and his 36.06 was the fastest at the state final since 2007.

After the 110s, the Oregon-bound Anderson dedicated his races to classmate and longtime friend Jamaari Adams, who he said was killed this week in an auto accident.
