Oregon signee and MLB draft prospect Spencer Steer didn’t have his best week at the plate for the Millikan Rams, going just 1-for-4 against Cabrillo and 0-for-3 against Long Beach Poly. But the senior got it done on the mound, with a 6 1/3 inning outing that saw him give up just four hits in an eventual 2-0 win over the Jackrabbits.
The Moors badly needed an Almont League win and Olguin delivered last Tuesday by going the distance in an 8-inning, 1-0 win over Bell Gardens. Olguin struck out 11 and allowed only one hit and one walk. He also scored the game-winning run as Alhambra evened its record in league and won its 11th game of the season.
The Terrier shined at last weekend’s Arcadia Invitational winning the Open Division 800 meter race in 1:52.47, edging out Cameron Wyman by less than a second. Brown’s time was a PR, giving him the No. 4 time in California and No. 8 in the nation.
The diminutive dynamo recorded a second-place finish in the 100 meters at the prestigious Arcadia Inviational, running a season best of 10.85. He also competed in the pole vault, placing ninth with a heighth of 14 feet, two inches. It is an event in which he broke the school record last year and has bettered twice this season.

The Baylor-signee of JSerra delivered clutch hits all week long to help the Lions reach the finals of the Boras Classic. He doubled and homered to lead JSerra past El Camino Real, 10-8, in the semifinals.
