Sydney Boyer
Oaks Christian

Boyer posted a pair of double-doubles as Oaks Christian won a pair of games in the Southern California Regional Division I playoffs as the No. 16 seed. She had 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 57-52 victory at top-seeded The Bishop’s and posted 13 points and 11 rebounds in a 50-43 win at Fresno Edison.

Shante Robinson
Mira Costa

Robinson won the 300-meter hurdles at the Redondo Nike Invitational and anchored Mira Costa’s first-place 4X100-meter relay. The junior ran a 42.98-second time in the 300 and also took third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.68. Mira Costa’s 4X100 relay team clocked a 48.53.

Maddie Bennett
La Mirada

The University of Arizona commit scored a goal in La Mirada’s first-round win over San Diego Southwest, tallied two more to go with an assist in a semifinal win over Oxnard and finished the week by delivering the cross that led to the only goal of the championship match, scored by freshman Megan Day.

Rebecca Winder
Diamond Bar

The pitcher/shortstop had a spectacular week as she helped the Diamond Bar softball team knock of Glendora, which was ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division 2, 4-1. She pitched a complete game while also going 1-for-2 including a double and a run scored. In the next game, she pitched 4 innings of solid relief against Los Altos, which ended in a 9-9 tie. Winder is undefeated to start the season at 3-0.

Roxy Standsberry
Arrowhead Christian Academy

The Eagles won their first game of the season last Tuesday in a 29-8 rout of Grove at home. Standsberry hit .833 with five hits, four RBIs and four runs. Standsberry also hit an in-the-park home run, a huge triple and stole two bases.

Jessica McNicholl
Los Osos

The senior left fielder went 6 for 11 with five RBIs for the Grizzlies (7-3) in last week’s Jurupa Valley Tournament, helping then to a 4-1 showing. This season, she is 11 for 23 with nine RBIs. McNicholl hit in the No. 6 spot in the lineup last year but has moved up into the clean-up roll.

Jordan Wells
Grand Terrace

Wells came up big in leading the Titans to the CIF SoCal Division V Girls Soccer Regional title. After The Titans and Simi Valley Grace Brethren were 1-1 after regulation and overtime, it went to penalty kicks. Wells made a diving stop on one penalty kick, then scored the decisive penalty kick to lift the Titans to the title. For the week, she allowed only two goals in three games of the regional.

Ryan Denhart
Los Alamitos High

Los Alamitos came into the 2016 softball season with a lot of high expecations, and The Griffins are living up to them. Ryan Denhart went 4-0, allowing 13 hits, walking seven and striking out 39 to help Los Al win the prestigious Tournament of Champion this past week.The Maryland-bound pitcher is the OC Sidelines Player of the Week for her efforts.
