Tony DaCosta
Torrance
DaCosta captured the heavyweight title at the CIF Southern Section Masters Meet. DaCosta won three matches by decision and one by fall to advance to the finals, where he faced Canyon’s Josh Tarango, a wrestler he had lost to the previous week at the CIF-SS Individual Championships.

Jonathan Prata
Downey
Prata won the 106-pound title at the CIF-Southern Section Masters Meet on Saturday. He finished second in the same weight class at Masters in 2017 but went on to become the first wrestler in Downey school history to win a state title.

Sierra Canyon
The senior guard scored a team-high 20 points in Sierra Canyon’s double overtime victory over Bishop Montgomery this past Saturday, which was highlighted by his heroic 3-point shot to send the game into its first overtime period as time expired.

Matthew Frazier
Nogales
In Friday’s CIF Southern Section Division 5AA semifinal, Frazier score a team-high 21 points to lead the Nobles to a 47-46 victory over Century.

Juan Aparicio
Indian Springs
Aparicio scored the deciding goal on a penalty kick in the 48th minute as the Coyotes defeated Temescal Canyon 3-2 in the CIF Southern Section Division 4 quarterfinals.

Sebastian Mendoza
Hillcrest
Mendoza scored a team-high 25 points as the Trojans defeated San Luis Obispo 52-33 to earn a spot in the CIF Southern Section Division 4AA championship game.

Michael Wang
Mater Dei
He had game highs of 23 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in a 76-66 win over Etiwanda in the CIF-SS Open Division semifinals.
