Chase Farrell

Farrell threw a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks in a 10-0 Foothill League victory over Golden Valley. Farrell hit one batter and Valencia made two errors in a dominant pitching performance.

Jonathan Prata

After winning the 106-pound title at the California State Championships, Prata finished second in the nation at the NHSCA Wrestling Championships over the weekend.

Chris Koon
Rolling Hills Prep

Koon had 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals to lead Rolling Hills Prep to a CIF State Division V championship Saturday with a 47-46 win over Watsonville St. Francis.

Brandon Dieter
South Hills

Dieter, the Huskies’ ace, added yet another gem to his growing list of big performances this season by twirling a complete game for a 2-1 win over Glendora in an important Palomares League game for both teams last week. Dieter struck out eight and allowed only five hits on 97 pitches of work as the Huskies kept pace atop the league standings.

Isaiah Paige

Paige was a big contributor in two Baseline League victories by the Spartans last week. On Wednesday he pitched a 2-0 complete game shut against Upland, allowing just three hits and one walk. Then in Friday’s 11-2 win over Chino Hills Paige played center field and went 2-for-3 highlighted by a two-run home run. He has signed with the University of Michigan.

Marcus Zofrea

Zofrea threw a perfect game in a 2-0 win over Rialto in the Babe Herman Tournament Wednesday, striking out nine batters.

Isaiah Cunningham
Rancho Verde

Cunningham won the 100 meters (10.53) and 200 meters (21.42) on Saturday at the Mt. Carmel Invitational. As one of the area’s top sprinters, Cunningham is “a state title threat at both 100 and 200,” as Rich Gonzalez of wrote over the weekend.

Tanner Bibee
Mission Viejo

He pitched a one-hit shutout in a 6-0 win over Capistrano Valley in a South Coast League opener. Bibee, a senior right-hander who signed with Cal State Fullerton, had a no-hitter through 5 2/3 innings. He struck out 10. Bibee is 3-1 with a 0.25 ERA and 38 strikeouts with only four walks in 28 innings.
