Scotty Pippen Jr.
Sierra Canyon
After junior guard Cassius Stanley was ruled out for the game in the second quarter of Saturday night’s CIF State Regional final game against Etiwanda, Pippen Jr. exploded for 13 points in the third quarter, and a team-high 22 to give Sierra Canyon a 58-55 victory.

Ismael Arellano
Bishop Amat
Arellano had a monster game in the CIF State Southern California Division III regional final against Riverside Notre Dame, scoring 28 points and 19 after halftime, but it wasn’t enough as the Lancers fell a game short of reaching the state championship, 69-56.

Eugene Jeon
La Mirada
Jeon went 3 for 4 with three home runs and five RBIs in the Matadors’ 11-2 win over Lakewood. His home runs came in second, fourth and fifth innings.

Marco Ibarra
Mary Star
Ibarra went 4 for 9 in three games, drove in four runs, scored twice and walked three times. On the mound, he pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowed one unearned run, one walk, three hits and struck out seven.

Michael Phillippy
Aliso Niguel
Phillippy was victorious in the 200 and the 400 meters at the Triton/Asics Invitational at San Clemente High. He clocked 49.82 seconds in the 400 and finished the 200 in 22.15. Phillippy’s 200 time was the ninth-best in California this season.

William Mouw
Ontario Christian
Mouw fired a 34 at El Prado Golf Course in Chino to lead the Knights to a 193-204 victory over Diamond Bar in a nonleague match.

C.J. Stevenson
Great Oak
Stevenson posted a wind-legal mark of 50 feet, 5 inches in the triple jump in a Southwestern League dual meet at Chaparral High. He set an Inland record with the jump, breaking the previous mark of 50-3.5 inches set by Rancho Verde’s Josh Como in 2006.
