Tatum Anzaldo
St. Paul

Anzaldo came up big in the Del Rey League opener against rival Bishop Amat, belting a two-run home run and finishing with three RBIs in a 6-1 victory to earn SoCal Prep Legends girls athlete of the week honors. It was St. Paul’s first step toward chasing a league title it lost last year to Bishop Amat. “I think (what happened last season) is the biggest part of winning this game today,” Anzaldo said of last week’s game. “We want to take it (the Del Rey League title) back. We want what’s ours.”

Alyssa Maxey
Rolling Hills Prep

Maxey scored 20 of her game-high 23 points in the second half to help Rolling Hills Prep to a 68-56 win over Bell-Jeff in the CIF State Division V Southern California Regional final.

Cassie Perryman

Perryman threw a complete game in the Lancers’ 6-3 Moore League victory over Millikan on Thursday. Perryman stranded nine runners and struck out six with only two walks.

Serena Huchingson
Newbury Park

The Boise State recruit blasted a three-run triple — Newbury Park’s only hit of the game — in a 3-0 win over Agoura and added a hit and an RBI in a 5-1 victory over Calabasas to help Newbury Park start 2-0 in Marmonte League play.

Brissa Alvarado

Alvarado excelled at the plate and in the circle last week for the Falcons. In three wins, she was 5-for-5 batting with six RBIs, a double and a triple. As a pitcher, she went 13 innings, allowing three hits, two runs while striking out 18.

Lauren Gutierrez

Gutierrez has been the key player for the Highlanders the past few years. Last week she helped her team to three wins and a tie, going 5 for 11 with four runs, four RBIs, two doubles, a triple and two walks. She has also been the anchor of the defense. playing stellar at shortstop with only one error in 21 chances. Gutierrez is hitting .514 with four doubles a triple and a home run with a fielding percentage of .969. She has signed with the University of Nevada-Reno.

Kayla Traylor
Riverside Poly

Traylor helped the Bears win the Redlands Invitational, and she picked up the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award. The Bethune Cookman-bound third baseman went 14 for 17 with 13 RBIs in the tournament Traylor went 4 for 4 with a triple as Poly beat Redlands, 12-4, in the championship game. She delivered a walk-off winner in a wild 16-15 victory over against Vista Murrieta to get help the Bears advance to the final round.

Delaney Hull
Capistrano Valley

The senior won five games in the circle last week, leading Capo Valley to a Saddleback Valley Tournament championship and a third-place finish in the Timberwolf Classic. Hull went 4-0, struck out 30 batters and posted a 0.53 ERA as she earned Saddleback Valley Tournament MVP honors. In the third-place game of the Timberwolf Classic against Yorba Linda, Hull held the Mustangs to one run on three hits for her fifth complete-game victory of the week.

Jaymi Steward

Steward notched three multi-hit games over the Terriers five-game, second-place run in the Redlands Invitational. She had three RBIs and scored twice in a 6-5 win over nationally-ranked Grand Terrace on March 13.
