West Torrance girls basketball unable to keep up with Alemany in fourth quarter of regional playoffs

TORRANCE >> The fourth quarter told the story of how the West Torrance girls basketball team was able to pull off the Division 1 title, last Saturday and why Alemany ended up losing in the semifinals.

Wednesday, both teams hit the fourth quarter of their CIF State Southern California Regional Division I first game with the game on the line and Alemany (19-10) was the ones able to find their groove to pull out a 53-47 road win.

“It just wasn’t our night in the fourth quarter,” West coach Riki Murakami said. “We had the shots we wanted, they just didn’t fall through.”
