Westlake girls volleyball team enjoys unbeaten start, eyes bigger prize

WESTLAKE VILLAGE — If a team has no seniors, there’s reasons to worry about how it will handle pressure.

Westlake girls volleyball coach Ernest Rittenhouse was no different.

After graduating five seniors from last year’s team, this year’s group would be the first Rittenhouse had coached with all underclassmen.

“My concern was would they have that sense of urgency knowing this isn’t their last year?”, Rittenhouse said, “Would there be a leader that could step up when things got down?”

One look at the Warriors’ record and those questions appear to be answered. They were 19-0 heading into Thursday’s final regular-season home game with Agoura…
