Two-sport standout Asani Hampton of Yucaipa has made a verbal commitment of the University of Michigan.

Right now he is part of Thunderbirds football team bracing for the postseason but his commitment to the Big 10 power is for track where he excels in the sprint events. He hasn’t ruled out playing some football as, possibly a kick return specialist but he plans to major in mechanical engineering so his plate might already be full.

“Right now it’s just for track,” he said. “I’d really have to see once I get there but it might be tough to try and do all that, especially as a freshman.”
